English, Persian and Arabic numerals work. Use a dot, comma or ٫ for decimals; use spaces or ٬ for thousands. A comma is always a decimal.

How the calculation works

The formulas

Gate positions are distances from each run’s start. Panel spans on either side round up independently; gate ends are posts. Separate runs retain all endpoints, a connected chain shares one post per join, or you can enter a verified shared-corner count.

Panels per solid span = ceil(span length ÷ effective panel width)

Posts before sharing per run = panels + gates + 1

Final posts = Σ(run posts) − shared corner posts

Assumptions to check

  • Panel width is the effective post-to-post module, including the installation’s connection allowance.
  • Post strength, foundations, terrain slopes, and gate hardware are outside this quantity model.

A worked example

A 10 m run with 2 m panels and no gate needs 5 panels and 6 posts. Two such runs sharing one corner need 10 panels and 11 posts.
